Biography
Gil Courson has been a professional photographer since 1973. He started
in photojournalism, during college, at the age of 17. After working for
newspapers in Washington D.C., Maryland, and Florida, he returned home to
The Courier-Journal in Louisville, Kentucky. His last eight years on staff
at The Courier-Journal were spent specializing in advertising and studio
work. For the last six years, Gil has operated his own photo business in
Louisville. He does studio and location, 35mm, 2 1/4, large format and digital
camera files.
The client list includes: PNC Bank, PNC Foundation, Humana, Hillerich
and Bradsby Co., Presbyterian Church USA, Prudential Insurance Co., Ford
Motor Co., Kentucky Fried Chicken Corp., People Magazine, The National Geographic
Society, Road King Magazine, Guideposts, Time-Life Books, The Humane Society,The
Louisville Ballet, Fibreworks, Future Farmers of America, Advanced ChemTech,
Delta Dental, and Atlas Machine Co.
Gil is a member of The American Society of Media Photographers.
The images included here are a mixture of traditional film, film changed
by computer and digital camera files. All images are copyrighted 1994-2000
